Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, and the ability to take call including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Details

  • Hospital-based Cath Lab unit
  • Standard procedure hours are 0800–1630, with flexibility required for earlier or later cases to meet unit and patient care needs
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (0700–1730)
  • Call is divided equally among team members, typically two nights per week and every other weekend, covering all after-hours, weekend, and holiday time
  • Weekend call spans from close of business Friday through department opening Monday morning, with an expectation to arrive on-site within 30 minutes of being notified
  • IR and Cardiac Cath Lab departments work closely together and staff may be asked to assist in the other area as needed

Requirements

  • Active Louisiana RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
  • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab or IR experience required
  • Competency in performing conscious sedation and monitoring and recording procedures in the IR department required
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Additional Information

  • Monitor, record, and document all procedures performed in the IR department
  • Candidates must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
  • Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
  • Upon accepting an assignment, travelers may be assigned to an Emergency Team by their unit manager and may be expected to remain at the facility or serve on a relief team during an emergency event — candidates who are not comfortable with this expectation should not apply
