Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level 1 trauma center in Massachusetts, requiring neuro, ortho, and trauma case experience with call and weekend rotation responsibilities.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with a 23-suite OR performing approximately 75 cases per day
• Level 1 trauma center with complex neuro, ortho, trauma, cardiac, and ex-lap cases
• Night shift position with flexibility across 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts totaling 36–40 hours per week
• Travelers work 12-hour shifts on weekends in rotation with staff and may be assigned 8-hour shifts during the week
• Weekend rotation required, with most staff taking 1 weekend shift per 4-week period and some rotating to 2 weekend shifts per month
• Call required 3–4 weekday evenings/nights per 4-week period, with a 45-minute call response time
• Perioperative call expectations mirror those of permanent staff; call begins at shift end for shifts ending at or before 5:30 PM
• RNs may sign up in scrub tech call spots but may be bumped by techs if coverage needs require it
• Self-scheduling available within reason; block scheduling is not guaranteed
• No floating required
• Charge nurse present on all shifts
• EMR: Epic
• Hospital-issued scrubs provided

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts (MA) RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience
• Level 1 trauma center experience required
• Experience circulating neuro, ortho, and trauma cases required; cardiac and ex-lap experience also valued
• Scrubbing experience is a plus but not required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred

• Manager interview required for this position
• First-time travelers are less preferred; travel experience is strongly preferred
