Description

American Traveler is seeking a General Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification for a 13-week travel assignment at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.

General Ultrasound department at a large Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma academic teaching hospital with 865 staffed beds
Daily caseload varies by tech
Proficiency in abdominal doppler imaging is required
3x12-hour night shifts, Monday–Thursday, 8:00 PM–6:30 AM
Holiday rotation required
No on-call requirement
May float between the main campus and an alternate facility location within clinical scope
Charting is performed in Epic

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of General Ultrasound experience
Must be proficient in abdominal doppler imaging
Current BLS (AHA only) required
ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification required
Graduated from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
SC state ultrasound licensure is not required; however, a license is required if applicable
SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

First-time travelers are generally not accepted; candidates must have completed at least one prior travel assignment — exception may be made for candidates coming from a large teaching facility
Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
All RTO must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs
Completion of online modules is required prior to the start of the assignment
During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak months are August and September
Scrub colors are teal tops and black bottoms
Parking passes are available for a one-time fee of $20, valid for nights and weekends
