Description
American Traveler is seeking a General Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification for a 13-week travel assignment at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- General Ultrasound department at a large Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma academic teaching hospital with 865 staffed beds
- Daily caseload varies by tech
- Proficiency in abdominal doppler imaging is required
- 3x12-hour night shifts, Monday–Thursday, 8:00 PM–6:30 AM
- Holiday rotation required
- No on-call requirement
- May float between the main campus and an alternate facility location within clinical scope
- Charting is performed in Epic
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of General Ultrasound experience
- Must be proficient in abdominal doppler imaging
- Current BLS (AHA only) required
- ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification required
- Graduated from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- SC state ultrasound licensure is not required; however, a license is required if applicable
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are generally not accepted; candidates must have completed at least one prior travel assignment — exception may be made for candidates coming from a large teaching facility
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- All RTO must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs
- Completion of online modules is required prior to the start of the assignment
- During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak months are August and September
- Scrub colors are teal tops and black bottoms
- Parking passes are available for a one-time fee of $20, valid for nights and weekends
