Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level I Trauma center in South Florida, requiring 3-5 years of Level I Trauma ER experience and an active FL or Compact RN license.
Details
- Work setting is a hospital-based Emergency Department at a Level I Trauma Center
- Trauma Bay assignments require independent care of Level I trauma patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 4:1 or 5:1 depending on assignment area
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:30
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active FL or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required at time of consideration: BLS and ACLS (both via AHA), TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 3-5 years of Level I Trauma ER experience required
- Must be able to function independently in a Trauma Bay caring for Level I trauma patients
- Degree must be from an accredited school, or from an institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON) with at least 2 years of recent, consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a U.S. hospital
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia assessment (pass/fail EKG testing)

- Proof of vaccination status is required — declinations are not accepted
- Candidates must pass a Basic Arrhythmia/dysrhythmia assessment prior to starting; re-testing may be required if initial score is not achieved
- This is a smoke-free facility
- Local candidates within a 60-mile radius of the facility are considered for this position
