Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a Level 1 Trauma, academic medical center with at least 1 year of CT experience and ARRT-CT certification required.
Details
- Large academic medical center with 885 licensed beds, Level 1 Trauma designation, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center
- CT Scan department covering Main Tower (80–110 patients/day) and Cancer Center (60–80 patients/day)
- Adult and pediatric inpatient and outpatient population with cases including cardiac, stroke, aneurysm, TBI, transplant, metastatic evaluation, peripheral vascular disease, trauma, and more
- Equipment includes Siemens Flash, Siemens Force, Siemens Alpha Photon Counting, GE Apex Revolution, GE Lightspeed, GE Discovery, and Intellispace PACS
- EMR: Epic
- 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- One weekend call rotation per assignment (on-call 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Saturday and Sunday)
- May float between the Main Reynolds Tower and Cancer Center locations
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of CT experience, with most recent experience within the last year
- Current BLS and ARRT-CT certification required
- Active license required, if applicable
- Proficiency in IV starts, arterial scans, routine scans, and contrast administration via peripheral IVs, power ports, and PICCs
- Experience with ICU/trauma patients, inpatient and outpatient workflows, and pediatric patients
- Ability to handle drains, lines, and tubing, and assist with patient transfers using sliding/ceiling lifts
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Perform a full range of CT imaging including cardiac, vascular, oncologic, trauma, and routine diagnostic scans
- Responsibilities include running the desk, facilitating workflow, coordinating patient transport, and managing phone communications
- Cardiac CT experience and familiarity with the Siemens Alpha Photon Counting scanner are preferred but not required
- Procedure CT experience is preferred but not required
- Supervised by a CT Supervisor; third shift technologists may work independently
- Orientation includes facility new employee orientation (NEO), 2 days of departmental orientation, and 2 weeks of training on required scanners
- At least one holiday worked during the assignment is preferred
- First-time travelers are accepted with sufficient CT experience
- Black scrubs required; free employee parking available
- Candidates previously employed in a permanent position at an AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
