Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Multi Trauma Unit (PCU) night shift position in Englewood, CO, requiring at least 1 year of acute care PCU experience and active BLS & ACLS certifications.
Details
- Multi Trauma Unit (MTU) within a Level 1 trauma center hospital setting
- 20-bed unit with a staff of 40, including charge nurses, RNs, and techs on both day and night shifts
- Highly acute patient population including trauma patients, trach patients, and chest tube management
- Patient ratio of 1:4 with a charge nurse free of patient assignment
- Equipment used includes ventilators, feeding pumps, IV pumps, wound vacs, specialty beds, suction, and chest tubes
- Procedures performed include chest tube placement, bedside bronchoscopy, and trach/suction management
- EMR: Meditech/CPN (prior experience preferred)
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active CO RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital PCU experience
- Candidates must not have any gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — Canadian SSNs are not accepted
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Prior Meditech EMR experience is preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
