Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PET Tech) for a 13-week travel assignment at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and proficiency with Siemens equipment.
Details
- Work in a Nuclear Medicine department at an 865-bed Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma academic teaching hospital
- Primary focus on PET/CT imaging procedures
- Siemens scanner equipment used
- Charting via Epic EMR
- 5x8-hour day shifts with varying start times between 6:30 AM and 10:00 AM and varying end times between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM
- Saturday shifts may be required if cameras are down or there is an excessive backlog
- No holiday coverage required
- No on-call requirements
- No floating between service lines or sister facilities
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine / PET Technology experience
- Current BLS certification (AHA only)
- NMTCB(N) or ARRT(N) certification required
- NMTCB(CT), ARRT(R), or ARRT(CT) certification required
- South Carolina license in Nuclear Medicine and Radiology or Computed Tomography (SCRQSA) required — license required if applicable
- Experience with Siemens scanners required
- Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience preferred
- A valid driver's license and SSN are required for consideration
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- A personal radiation dosimetry badge is required — the facility does not provide radiation badges to travelers, and one must be supplied prior to the assignment
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this position
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any facility in this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility may be considered; non-local candidates are prioritized
- All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration and are subject to manager and unit approval
- Pre-assignment online modules are required to be completed before the start date
- Scrub color is teal top with black pants
- Parking is free on nights and weekends; a one-time $20 fee applies for a parking pass
- This facility is located in a coastal region subject to hurricane season (June–November); travelers should be aware that all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties during this period, with peak activity in August and September
