Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac ICU travel position in the Denver, CO area, requiring at least 1 year of acute care ICU experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Cardiac ICU unit with 16 beds and a staff of approximately 60
• Patient ratio of 1 RN to 2 patients
• Night shift schedule: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
• Unit staffing includes a Charge RN, 8 RNs, and a PCT per shift (PCT assigned when census exceeds 14)
• Equipment used includes cardiac monitoring systems, ventilators, IV pumps, tube feed pumps, and Swan catheters
• EMR system is Meditech; prior experience preferred
• Common procedures include intubations and central line placement
• Neuro and medical ICU patient populations also seen on this unit

Requirements

• Active CO or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care ICU experience required
• US Social Security Number (SSN) and date of birth (DOB) required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Experience with neuro or medical ICU patient populations is preferred
• Prior Meditech EMR experience is preferred
• Collaborative, team-oriented candidates with a strong patient care focus are the ideal fit for this unit
• Certifications must remain valid through at least the first 30 days of the assignment
