Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Orthopedics travel assignment in the Denver, CO area, requiring a minimum of 1 year of acute care ortho experience and an active CO or compact RN license.

Details

• 30-bed Orthopedic unit on the 7th floor of a main hospital building
• Diverse patient population including elective orthopedic and orthopedic trauma patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6
• Unit staffed with 1 charge nurse, 4–6 bedside RNs, and 2–4 PCTs
• Specialized equipment includes CPM (continuous passive motion) machines, nerve block pumps, and On-Q pain management systems
• EMR: Meditech (experience preferred)
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience as an Ortho RN
• At least 2 years of total clinical experience required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no exceptions
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Preferred experience includes Med/Surg background and Meditech EMR
• ACLS certification is preferred
• Typical procedures include IV starts, Foley/straight catheterization, CPM application, and early mobilization
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Collaborative unit known for strong teamwork, a dedicated nursing team, and a focus on patient experience and quality outcomes
