Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Med/Surg position in Urbana, IL, requiring an IL RN license and Epic EMR experience at a Level 1 Trauma facility.
Details
- Neuro Med/Surg unit (9B Neuro) within a hospital setting
- Cares for patients with mild to severe brain injury due to stroke, trauma, or surgery
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- 6 weekend shifts per scheduling period required
- Every other holiday required
- No floating requirements
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active IL RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted)
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Provides neurological nursing care including assessment, medication administration, care planning, and patient education
- Monitors for and responds immediately to neurological changes and seizure activity
- Maintains patient safety priorities including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety
- Delegates tasks to Healthcare Technicians (HCTs) and validates completion throughout the shift
- Conducts bedside shift report and hourly rounding on all assigned patients
- Collaborates within an interdisciplinary team to coordinate effective patient care
- Candidates who have been on continuous assignment at any Carle Health location for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning
- RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
- Candidates must be interviewed by facility leadership prior to placement
