Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Med/Surg position in Urbana, IL, requiring an IL RN license and Epic EMR experience at a Level 1 Trauma facility.

Details

• Neuro Med/Surg unit (9B Neuro) within a hospital setting
• Cares for patients with mild to severe brain injury due to stroke, trauma, or surgery
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• 6 weekend shifts per scheduling period required
• Every other holiday required
• No floating requirements
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted)
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Provides neurological nursing care including assessment, medication administration, care planning, and patient education
• Monitors for and responds immediately to neurological changes and seizure activity
• Maintains patient safety priorities including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety
• Delegates tasks to Healthcare Technicians (HCTs) and validates completion throughout the shift
• Conducts bedside shift report and hourly rounding on all assigned patients
• Collaborates within an interdisciplinary team to coordinate effective patient care
• Candidates who have been on continuous assignment at any Carle Health location for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning
• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Candidates must be interviewed by facility leadership prior to placement
