Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with Epic EMR experience and Level 1 Trauma background for a night shift inpatient position in Urbana, IL.
Details
- Inpatient respiratory care department at a Level 1 Trauma hospital
- Patient population spans neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Respiratory care services provided on inpatient units and in the Emergency Department
- Procedures include arterial, venous, and capillary blood gas analysis, ventilator management, patient assessment, and equipment testing and maintenance
- Epic EMR used for charting and charging
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts per day
- Every other weekend required (3 weekends per 6-week cycle)
- Holiday rotation required for major holidays
- No on-call required
- No floating required
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
- NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential
- Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required (license required if applicable)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant respiratory care experience
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director
- Responsibilities include patient assessments, ventilator management, blood gas analysis, equipment preparation and testing, and timely intervention recommendations
- Accurately documents care in EMR respiratory flow sheets, care plans, and charges
- Reports malfunctioning equipment to management and assists with cleaning and stocking respiratory care supplies
- Candidates must consult with a Respiratory Care Practitioner regarding adverse effects and document sleep therapy compliance as required
- Candidate interviews are conducted by facility leadership
- RTO may not exceed 7 days for the duration of the 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this facility for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning
