Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medicine Specialty Float Pool position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least 1 year of experience and Med/Surg and Step-Down background.

Details

• 3rd Floor Overflow unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population ranges from simple to complex medical and surgical cases
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week (40 hours/week)
• May be floated to any area of the hospital
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association (AHA only)
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Med/Surg and Step-Down experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Candidate must document patient responses to nursing interventions and changes in physician orders
• Involves patient and family education regarding care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation before being eligible to apply for a new contract (extensions are permitted once, for a maximum of 26 total weeks)
