Description
American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist II for an OB/GYN outpatient clinic setting, requiring 3+ years of experience and RDMS certification.
Details
- Outpatient OB/GYN clinic setting
- Monday through Friday day shift schedule, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with first appointment at 8:30 AM and last appointment at 3:45 PM
- 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day
- No on-call or weekend requirements
- Holiday coverage required on an every-other-holiday basis
- GE Voluson 6 ultrasound equipment experience required
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
- RDMS certification through ARDMS with at least one modality-specific certification relevant to the department (e.g., Abd, OB/GYN, RVT)
- Current BLS certification (AHA preferred)
- Completion of a 12-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent certificate program
- Proficiency with GE Voluson 6 ultrasound equipment
- License required if applicable
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Assists physicians with invasive diagnostic procedures including needle biopsies, aspirations, and guided needle-wire placements
- Provides training and standardization to residents on ultrasound procedures and techniques
- Performs real-time scanning while simultaneously acquiring and recording Doppler signals and imaging data for physician interpretation
- Recognizes sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissues, structures, and blood flow, and escalates findings requiring direct radiologist observation
- Evaluates contraindications prior to procedures, including patient medications, preparation status, and ability to tolerate the exam
- Must complete all departmental sonographer competencies within 12 months and maintain annual modality competencies
