Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) for a travel Operating Room position requiring 3+ years of experience with vascular and open heart cases in a 10-OR surgical facility in Lafayette, IN.
Details
- Work is performed in a hospital OR department with 10 operating rooms on the 2nd floor
- Patient population includes general, orthopedic, spine, neuro, GYN, ENT, robotics, urology, podiatry, vascular, and open heart cases
- Schedule is four 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM), Monday–Friday with a rotating day off
- Weekday and weekend call rotation required
- No floating requirements
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential required
- NBSTSA certification required
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a surgical first assistant
- Experience scrubbing in on thoracic, vascular, and open heart cases required
- Ability to function as both a CSFA and CST depending on case needs
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN required for consideration
- Robotics training preferred

- Candidate will serve as first assistant and scrub tech across a wide variety of surgical specialties depending on daily needs
- Ideal candidate is positive, self-motivated, attentive, and able to anticipate surgical team needs
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius of the facility are eligible to apply
- 13-week contract
