Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week assignment at a Level III trauma center in Farmington, NM.
Details
- MRI department at a 198-bed, Level III trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah
- Facility services include medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth, cancer care, nephrology, pediatrics, inpatient behavioral health, day surgery, and extensive imaging
- All patient populations including adult, geriatric, and pediatric
- Full body MRI procedures performed
- Equipment: 1.5 Tesla GE Artist MRI scanner
- EHR: Cerner
- Friday through Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (36 hours/week)
- Periodic on-call requirements during the week
- No float requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of MRI technologist experience
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required
- ARRT CT and Radiography license required
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- NM state license required if applicable
- Proficiency with full body MRI procedures
- Experience with 1.5 Tesla GE Artist MRI scanner preferred

Pros
Unit is comprised of many travelers. Core staff and travelers have all been fantastic! The unit is set up quite well to manage the surges of patients. It is the only main hospital around so it can definitely provide good experience. Most of the providers I've encountered over the last couple months actually listen to the nurses and are easy to work with.
Cons
It is definitely busy before the size of the town. I can't say I have any other cons.
