Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level III Neonatal ICU position at a Magnet teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 3 years NICU experience and an active WA or compact RN license.

Details

  • 54-bed Level III NICU serving as a regional referral center for high-risk infants
  • Patient population is predominantly very low birth weight premature infants requiring ventilatory support
  • 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts preferred; 3x12 may be considered
  • 2 weekend shifts required per month, scheduled on a variable/as-needed basis with flexibility to pick up additional shifts as unit needs arise
  • Floating within the hospital to the Mother Baby unit for infant care only; no floating to sister hospitals
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Charting via Epic (experience preferred but not required)
  • Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

  • Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications required
  • Minimum 3 years of NICU experience at a Level III facility required
  • Minimum 2 years of permanent staff NICU experience required
  • Experience at a teaching hospital strongly preferred
  • First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
  • COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions

Additional Information

  • Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital with 637 staffed beds
  • State-of-the-art NICU with newly renovated facilities
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
  • RTO is not permitted during orientation week and should otherwise be kept to a minimum, with a maximum of 1 week
  • Former UW facility staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • 2 professional references, skills checklist, and copies of certifications required for consideration
