Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a specialized Tier 5 GU/GYN/Transplant team, requiring robotic surgery and transplant experience along with a WI or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
- Specialized Tier 5 team focused on GU/GYN/Transplant surgeries including kidney, pancreas, and organ procurement
- Cases include kidney transplant, nephrectomy, cystectomy, ureteroscopy, HOLEP, prostatectomy, hysterectomy, and laparoscopic gynecological procedures
- Utilizes Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system for urologic and gynecologic robotic procedures
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Epic charting system used
- Day/Evening shift schedule with 12-hour shifts (0640-1910) three times weekly, with potential for one 0940-2210 shift biweekly
- Weekend rotation required
- Weekday call requirement
- Floating required as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license (WI or Compact) required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the applicable specialty
- Experience in Urology and Gynecology/Oncology required
- Kidney and pancreas transplant experience required
- Robotic surgery experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Must pass telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria for both adult and pediatric rhythm identification
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
Additional Information
- Perform circulating and scrub duties for complex GU/GYN/Transplant surgical cases including robotic-assisted procedures
- Responsibilities include administration of blood and blood products, specimen handling/labeling, and adherence to Universal Protocol (time out) procedures
- Must be knowledgeable in infection control, laser safety, latex allergy protocols, and malignant hyperthermia response
- Trained in emergency management, code response, and fire safety procedures
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
- No prior travel nursing experience required for consideration
- Located at University Hospital, 600 Highland Ave, Madison, WI, ranked Wisconsin's #1 hospital and a Magnet-designated facility
