Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 5+ years of ED experience and night shift availability in Danville, VA.
Details
- Emergency Department at a 250-bed academic community hospital serving all age groups
- 31-bed ED with 2 triage rooms; 7 beds designated for behavioral health or acute patients
- Patient ratio of 1:4, with noted exceptions during high-volume periods or for patients requiring immediate care
- Primary EMR is MedHost (ED); Meditech is used for admit holds (eMAR only) and behavioral health patients
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 hours per week
- Rotating weekends required
- Floating as needed
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIH Stroke Scale, PALS or ENPC, and Handle with Care (available on-site)
- Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department experience required; candidates with combined ICU and ED experience may also be considered
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Travelers may wear any scrub color of their choice
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
- Consent to random drug screening (conducted on-site) and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form are required
- The facility is a designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center, accredited by the ACC and the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer
- Located in Danville, VA — approximately 45 miles north of Greensboro, NC — a small city known for its River District, parks, trails, and historical architecture
