Description

American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and 2+ years of experience, including acute care and hospital experience, for a pediatric position at a children's hospital.

Details

  • Children's hospital setting within the SLP Pediatrics unit
  • Acute care work with pediatric patients
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Epic EMR used for charting
  • May be reassigned to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75+ mile radius during the assignment if qualified

Requirements

  • Current CCC-SLP certification
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an SLP, including at least 1 year of hospital experience
  • Acute care experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Valid state license required if applicable
  • 2 references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Preferred experience includes children's hospital, pediatric outpatient, pediatric rehabilitation facility, and PICU settings
  • Preferred experience with community hospital and Trauma Level I/II settings
  • Skills of interest include adaptive equipment, augmentative and alternative communication devices, and communication boards
  • Pediatric population experience preferred, including autism, developmental delays, hearing impairments, language disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders
  • Dysphagia management skills preferred, including bedside swallow evaluations, modified barium swallow studies, and trach/vent care
  • Familiarity with pediatric evaluation tools such as CELF, PLS-4, Rossetti Infant-Toddler Language Scale, and WAB is preferred
  • Responsibilities include patient/family education, patient safety, and recognizing signs of abuse
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travel candidates
  • First-time travelers considered as long as candidate has at least 1 year of acute care experience
  • All requested time off must be disclosed at time of submission and approved by the manager at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract and none permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
  • Candidates with prior employment at any University of California medical facility must disclose employment history, including dates, units, and manager names, for a rehire eligibility review
