Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of hospital experience for a PM shift position at an acute care hospital in Summit, NJ.

Details

• Hospital-based Respiratory Therapy department
• 12-hour PM shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• Focus on pulmonary function testing, CPAP initiation, durable medical equipment (DME) support, and inhaler training
• Floating to a nearby sister hospital may be required on an as-needed basis
• No on-call required
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• RRT or CRT credential from the NBRC
• Active NJ Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required if applicable
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of hospital or physician office experience
• Computer literacy required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include providing direct patient care with emphasis on pulmonary function testing and CPAP device initiation
• Supports DME requests including oxygen concentrators and nebulizers, and assists with patient training on inhaler use
• Works closely with physicians as part of the care team
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from their initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
