Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with adult critical care ventilator and trauma experience for a night shift position at a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center.

Details

  • Level I Trauma Center at a large academic medical center with 1,500+ staffed beds
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) unit
  • Adult critical care patient population; NICU and pediatric experience preferred
  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required between two campuses located one block apart, with shared parking and shuttle service available
  • Charting via Epic
  • No on-call required
  • No self-scheduling or block scheduling accommodations permitted; all schedules are assigned based on unit staffing needs

Requirements

  • Current RRT certification required
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Trauma center experience required, preferably at a large facility
  • Adult critical care ventilator experience required
  • Extracorporeal support, NICU, and/or pediatric experience preferred
  • Experience with Hamilton C6 ventilator preferred
  • License required if applicable
  • 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Work as part of a respiratory therapy team at a large academic Level I Trauma Center
  • Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
  • Scrub color: Navy Blue
  • Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
  • COVID vaccination exemptions are considered for religious or medical reasons only
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates
  • Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
  • Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; all RTO must be finalized prior to offer acceptance, as additional requests will not be approved after acceptance
