Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist for a cardiac cath lab position requiring an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology and current ARRT certification.

Details

• Cardiac Cath Lab setting serving adult and geriatric patients
• Procedures include cardiac catheterization with roles as computer operator, scrub assistant, second circulator, and recovery technician
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week

Requirements

• Associate's Degree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
• Current BLS, ACLS, and ARRT certifications required
• Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia Course required
• Current registration in the state of Kentucky required (license required if applicable)
• 1 year of invasive vascular experience preferred
• MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Assists the circulating RN with assessment and implementation of care for cardiac cath lab patients, including recognizing drugs and lab values that may contraindicate procedures
• Responsible for safe operation of fluoroscopic and radiographic equipment, including setup and first-line assist to the physician while maintaining sterile technique
• Documents procedural information, patient demographics, and continuously monitors and analyzes hemodynamic data
• Monitors and assesses radiation safety in accordance with code of practice guidelines and adheres to radiation protection protocols for both patients and personnel
• Assists with access and administration of medications on and off the sterile field, ensuring all medications and solutions are properly labeled
• Accurately calculates valve areas and shunts, and assists in the management of emergency situations
