Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and proficiency with Epic on weekend night shifts.
Details
- Critical Care Float Pool position in a hospital setting
- Nurses float across multiple ICU units based on staffing and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, MICU, and NCCU
- Floating is required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Schedule: 3x12-hour weekend night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), with one additional weekday shift per week
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- Telemetry monitoring required
- Ventilator management required
- IV start skills required
Requirements
- Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Experience with IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management required
- Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
- 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as a second reference; coworker references are not accepted
Additional Information
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Former employees of the facility are eligible to apply once they have been away for 6 months or more
- RTO must be submitted upfront and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract duration
- Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be initiated promptly after contract signing — candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet as soon as possible upon receipt
- Multiple parking permit options are available for agency staff through CampusParc, ranging from 24/7 garage access to budget surface lot options with shuttle service to the medical center
