Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) position requiring prior open-heart unit experience and proficiency with advanced cardiac monitoring and support devices.

Details

• 18-bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) in a large academic hospital setting (500+ bed facility)
• Patients recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, ventricular assist device placement, and other complex procedures
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2
• Rotating day/night shift schedule (7A/7P rotation); straight PM shift may also be available
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Proficiency with ventilator management, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheters, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive drip titration, Level 1 IABP, and ECMO required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Orientation held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Critical Care Certification (e.g., CCRN) preferred
• Trauma course completion preferred
• Hands-on experience recovering post-operative cardiac surgery patients in a dedicated open-heart/ICU setting required
• Experience with 500+ bed facility required
• Active licensure documentation required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct ICU-level nursing care to patients recovering from complex cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures
• Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
