Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) position requiring dedicated open-heart unit experience and proficiency with post-op cardiac surgery recovery in an ICU setting.
Details
- Work in an 18-bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) at a large academic hospital setting
- Patient population includes those recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, ventricular assist device placement, and other complex cardiac procedures
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Weekend Option assignment: 5 out of 6 weekends every 6 weeks
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license (Maryland or Compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS and Critical Care Certification preferred
- Prior experience in a dedicated open-heart unit with direct post-operative cardiac surgery patient recovery required
- ICU-level experience required, including ventilator management, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheter, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive drip titration, IABP (Level 1), and ECMO
- Experience at a 500+ bed facility required
- Active licensure and one professional reference required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Orientation is held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- 13-week contract
