Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and active IL RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a 222-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital
- Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Diverse patient population including trauma, pediatric, cardiac, stroke, mental health, and sexual assault cases
- Procedures include central line and arterial line insertion, chest tube management, post-cardiac arrest hypothermia, intubations, code strokes, code STEMIs, code blue response, and patient transfers
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- May float between the Belleville and East campuses, as well as to inpatient floors as needed
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling is not available
- Free parking on-site
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required (pending IL license is not accepted)
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); RQI cards are not acceptable
- Preferred certifications: CPI and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Navy scrubs required
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Travelers may remain at this health system's facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within this health system as a traveler
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
