Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and active IL RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a 222-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Diverse patient population including trauma, pediatric, cardiac, stroke, mental health, and sexual assault cases
• Procedures include central line and arterial line insertion, chest tube management, post-cardiac arrest hypothermia, intubations, code strokes, code STEMIs, code blue response, and patient transfers
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• May float between the Belleville and East campuses, as well as to inpatient floors as needed
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling is not available
• Free parking on-site

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (pending IL license is not accepted)
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); RQI cards are not acceptable
• Preferred certifications: CPI and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Navy scrubs required
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Travelers may remain at this health system's facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
• Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within this health system as a traveler
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
