Description
American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a general ultrasound position at an acute care teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience and RDMS certification.
Details
- Acute care teaching hospital setting (Level 3 trauma, 317 staffed beds)
- General ultrasound unit with 7 rooms
- Daily caseload of 40–70 studies per tech
- Inpatient, outpatient, and ER patient populations
- Procedures include portables and biopsies
- Philips scanner equipment used
- Charting in Epic (Excellian)
- Primarily day shifts with occasional overnight and weekend shifts as needed per department
- Possible shift times include 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 11:00 AM–11:00 PM, and 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
- Weekend work required as needed per department
- May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
- Experience in outpatient, inpatient, ER, teaching hospital, and community hospital settings required
- RDMS-AB, RDMS-OB, and RVT certifications required
- BLS required
- Proficiency with PACS, portables, and biopsies required
- Philips scanner experience required
- Epic (Excellian) EMR experience required
- State license required if applicable — pending state license accepted
- 1 supervisor reference minimum required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 months from their last shift worked as a permanent staff or per diem employee before being eligible
- Pre-start online modules are required to be completed before the first day of the assignment
- Dark gray scrubs required
- RTO requests of no more than 5 days are preferred
- No on-call requirements for this position
