Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Vascular/Cardiovascular Acute Care unit, requiring ACLS certification and at least one year of nursing experience with telemetry or cardiac surgery background.

Details

• 12-bed inpatient Cardiovascular Acute Care Unit within a Center for Heart and Vascular Care, caring for both medical and surgical cardiovascular patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Experience with telemetry and/or cardiac surgery is expected for this unit
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Every other holiday (EOH) required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 14-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Current ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing required (BSN or MSN preferred)
• Experience with telemetry and/or cardiac surgery strongly preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and update patient care plans
• Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required
• Assesses and anticipates discharge planning needs for patients and families
• Identifies and addresses cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care planning
• Candidates should be prepared to report for a drug screen within 24 hours of committing to the position
• Background check and drug screen results may take at least 2 weeks; start dates may be adjusted accordingly
