Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a 13-week night shift contract on a 40-bed Neuro unit in Austin, TX, requiring at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience and active BLS and NIH Stroke certifications.
Details
- Work setting is a 40-bed Neurology unit (4 West) within an acute care hospital in Austin, TX
- Neurological patient population with a focus on Med/Surg-level care
- Patient ratios are 5–6:1 on day shift and 6:1 on night shift
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- No on-call requirements
- EMR system is Meditech
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or a Compact RN license valid in Texas required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC accepted) and NIH Stroke Scale — certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
- Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, and 4 PCTs; night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 7 RNs, and 4 PCTs
- Navy blue scrubs are required
