Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit position in Louisville, KY, requiring a minimum of two years of cardiovascular nursing experience and night shift availability.

Details

  • Work in a dedicated Cardiovascular Unit within a hospital setting
  • Two cardiovascular units — CVU (16 beds) and CVI (15 beds) — providing intermediate care for cardiac surgery patients from pre-op through discharge
  • Patient population includes cardiac surgery, pre/post-cardiac intervention (PTCA, cardioversion, generator implants, TAVR), and patients with atypical chest pain requiring monitoring
  • 13-week contract with 36 hours per week
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum of 2 years of cardiovascular nursing experience required
  • ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
  • Candidate must provide month and day of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, individualized care planning, patient and family education, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge processes
  • Delegates tasks appropriately and monitors the accuracy and completeness of care provided by other team members
  • Actively participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer monitoring, CAUTIs, and documentation auditing
  • Nursing practice is evidence-based and guided by hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines
