Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring at least 2 years of experience and an Idaho or compact RN license, working night shifts in a high-acuity inpatient setting.
Details
- 13-week contract on a Medical Surgical unit
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Diverse patient population including sepsis, CIWA, AMS/confusion, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications
- Serves patients across all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Charting via Epic (experience preferred)
- Weekend and holiday coverage required
Requirements
- Active Idaho or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and workload management skills
- Effective interpersonal communication and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with evolving patient safety protocols
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Travel pairs or groups will not be considered
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Travel experience preferred but first-time travelers may be considered — check position details for eligibility
