Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry night shift position requiring active SC or compact RN licensure and a minimum of 1 year of Epic EMR experience.

Details

• 13-week contract in a hospital Cardiac Telemetry unit
• Adult patient population including observation status and inpatient overflow with diagnoses such as chest pain/ACS, cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, CVA/TIA/stroke workup, diabetes, syncope, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, and GI bleed
• Procedures include cardiac/telemetry monitoring, permanent pacemaker pacing, TEE, negative pressure isolation (AFB), thoracentesis/paracentesis, and Level 3 IV infusions and push medications
• Medication systems used: Pyxis and Omnicell
• EMR: Epic (minimum 1 year of experience required)
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend required, subject to change based on unit needs
• Floating required to like units at the same facility or nearby campuses based on census needs

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac telemetry nursing experience
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Driver's license and Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include cardiac/telemetry monitoring, patient assessment, coordination of testing and procedures, administration of IV medications, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and specialty services including cardiology, neurology, general surgery, and orthopedics
• Floating is conducted only to units where competencies have already been demonstrated and documented
• First-time travelers will be considered depending on experience
• For this unit and shift (Adult Cardiac Tele, nights), candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible — candidates under 50 miles are ineligible
• Two professional references are required for consideration
