Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position at a community hospital in Lincolnton, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience and the ability to work night shifts in a full LDRP setting.
Details
- Work in a 10-bed LDRP unit with 2 OB beds and 2 triage bays at a 101-bed community hospital in Lincolnton, NC
- Patient population includes labor, triage, postpartum, and newborn care
- Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for inactive labor, and 1:3-4 for couplets
- Nurses are expected to perform labor management, circulate cesarean sections, pre-op and PACU care, triage, newborn resuscitation, Pitocin management, and epidural management
- 12-hour night shifts, 1900–0700, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation required
- No on-call responsibilities
- EMR: Epic (experience noted)
- Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Philips monitors, bladder scanner, fetal monitoring, and HUGGS system
- Floating is required within Region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, and Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) per regional needs and within scope of practice — candidates who are not willing to float to these facilities should not apply
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM
- Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required; Postpartum-only, L&D, or LDRP experience will be considered
- Most recent experience must be within the last year
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include full LDRP care: labor management, cesarean section circulation, pre-op, PACU recovery, triage, newborn resuscitation, and couplet care
- Dedicated scrub tech available to assist with deliveries, sections, OR setup and stocking, and newborn baths
- Charge nurse support available on the unit; OB MD, anesthesia/CRNA team, and 24/7 respiratory therapy also on site
- Sections are monitored and recovered in-room unless general anesthesia is used
- Orientation includes general hospital onboarding (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
- First-time travelers will be considered if necessary
- Candidates who have previously held a permanent position at an AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking is available on site
