Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR Scrub and Circulate position requiring 3–5 years of complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular OR experience with the ability to both scrub and circulate.

• Hospital-based Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) setting
• Role requires both scrubbing and circulating, with a primary focus on scrubbing
• Complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases including Coronary Artery Bypass (primary and redo), aortic aneurysms, AVR and MVR (primary and redo), TAVR, ECMO, VAD, and adult cardiac cases (pediatric experience is a plus)
• Active participation in numerous ongoing research protocols
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 5:30 AM, Monday through Thursday (10-hour shifts, 40 hours/week)
• On-call is required, with post-shift call coverage from 5:30–6:30 AM daily
• Overtime may be required based on departmental needs
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active VA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• BLS certification required (must be AHA-issued)
• CNOR certification preferred
• 3–5 years of recent experience scrubbing and circulating in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases required
• Strong multitasking and critical thinking skills required
• Excellent communication skills and ability to function as a team player

Additional Information

• One summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day) and one winter holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) required per departmental need
• Any requested time off must be added to the end of the contract to ensure a full 13 working weeks
• Candidate must be comfortable participating in professional and research activities within the department
• 13-week contract
