Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with strong orthopedic experience and on-call availability for a travel contract at a hospital in the Fort Myers, FL area.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room (OR) setting
- Strong orthopedic surgical experience is a core focus of this role
- On-call is required for this position
- Schedule is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (10-hour day shifts)
- 4 shifts per week, 10 hours per shift
- Floating may be required to OR departments at sister campuses, all located within 15–20 minutes of each other
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Active FL RN license or compact RN license (must be visible and active through Nursys)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
- Strong orthopedic OR experience required
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program required (ACEN, CNEA, CCNE, or FL Dept. of Health approved); 5 years of experience may substitute if accreditation cannot be documented
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — this rule is strictly enforced and applies to property ownership or co-signing as well
- Driver's license address must match the address on file with the Board of Nursing
- Full DOB, SSN, and RN license number required for consideration
Additional Information
- Orientation begins on a Friday; nurses must be physically present at the facility on that day to obtain their badge/ID, so being local and settled in the area by that time is expected
- Candidates are expected to secure full-time housing in the area for the duration of the contract — commuting from a distant home base between shifts is not suitable for this role
- Block scheduling requests are not accepted
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront and will not be approved after an offer is made
- Travelers will be first to float and should be prepared for a high likelihood of floating to sister campuses
- The facility values flexibility and a team-player attitude — candidates who demonstrate this are strongly preferred
- First-time travelers are not mentioned as welcome; prior travel experience is preferred

Pros
Sebrona, is the very personable communicative and I feel like she works hard on my behalf. I very much appreciate her thank you
Cons
My phone showed her number as spam and I think blocked some of the texts I wish it hadn't have done that but that was nothing on her end all on mine so make sure that you have your settings to allow the calls and texts from spam
