Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ACU/CCU (ICU) position at a community hospital in Yakima, WA, requiring at least one prior travel assignment and two years of ICU experience.
Details
- Work in the ACU/CCU unit of a 226-bed non-profit community hospital with 11 ICU beds
- Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, CVA overflow, post-cath patients, and some surgical patients (vascular, abdominal, GI)
- Procedures and skills include chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, monitoring femoral arterial sheaths, and administration of blood products and drips (diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, heparin)
- Bipap management and post-cath care including TR bands and femoral approach are part of the caseload; travelers will not pull femoral sheaths
- EMR: Epic
- 12-hour night shifts, 1900–0730
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Float requirement to Tele, Telemetry 2EW, Med-Surg, and Neurology-Medical units
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Experience with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and monitoring femoral arterial sheaths required
- Experience with Art lines, Impella, and/or IABP preferred
- Must have completed at least one prior travel nursing assignment; first-time travelers will not be considered
Additional Information
- A clinical interview via SimpliFi is required as part of the hiring process, followed by final unit approval
- One supervisor-level reference (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or above) is required for consideration; a second reference will be required prior to start
- Any color professional scrubs are acceptable
