Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Advanced Care/EMU unit position requiring ICU and PCU experience, Level 1 Trauma background, and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Night shift position working 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Advanced Care and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) in a Level 1 Trauma hospital setting
- Patients include advanced care and EMU patients requiring continuous seizure monitoring
- Collaborates with critical care team and hospitalists for patient management
- 5 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
- Every other holiday required
- Floating to other units is expected
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active IL RN license in good standing required (temp license accepted)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- ICU and PCU experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Monitors EMU patients for seizure activity on a continuous basis
- Communicates with patients and families using meaningful hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and whiteboards
- Maintains up-to-date and accurate nursing documentation for use by the healthcare team
- Candidate interviews are conducted by a Carle Health leader
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract
- Travelers who have been on assignment at Carle Health for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break in service before returning to any Carle Health location
