Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical unit (T7) position at a Level 1 Trauma facility in Urbana, IL, requiring Epic EMR experience and an active Illinois RN license.
Details
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
- Surgical unit (T7) in a hospital setting
- Specializes in post-operative care for a complex surgical patient population, including tracheostomies, wound vac management, and new ostomy care
- Works collaboratively with general surgical and OMFS residency services
- 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
- Holiday shifts on a rotation basis
- May float to like units
- Epic EMR required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Provides post-operative care including assessment and intervention for complex surgical patients
- Monitors and manages newly placed tracheostomies
- Assesses and maintains complex wounds requiring wound vac and other advanced wound management techniques
- Educates patients and families on new ostomy care
- Candidate interviews are conducted by facility leadership
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days for the duration of the 13-week contract
- Travelers who have been on continuous assignment at this health system for 1 year must either convert to permanent employment or take a 6-month break before returning to any of this health system's locations
