Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatric ICU position in Oklahoma City, requiring at least one year of nursing experience, AHA-issued BLS and PALS certifications, and a 50-mile radius rule from the facility.
Details
- Pediatric ICU setting within a hospital environment
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- CVICU and NICU experience is preferred
- Level 1 trauma experience required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — no other issuing bodies accepted
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
- Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient caseload, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, obtaining and monitoring physiological data, and assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Care coordination includes documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, communicating care plans with patients and families, and making referrals to appropriate personnel
- BSN from a board-approved program is preferred
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may complete a maximum of one extension (26 weeks total); a 6-month separation period is required before reapplying
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screening, background check, medical requirements) is strictly enforced — non-compliance may result in cancellation
