Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position in Summit, NJ, requiring scrub and circulate skills across multiple surgical specialties and an active NJ RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room setting
• Surgical specialties include orthopedic, general, urology, and robotic procedures
• Nurses are expected to both scrub and circulate
• AM shift, 12.5-hour days, 3 days per week (37.5 hours/week)
• Schedule notes indicate a 7am–8am shift window
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to a nearby sister hospital may be required
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active NJ RN license (or compact license recognized in NJ) required
• Current BLS certification required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of OR experience required
• Ability to scrub and circulate across multiple surgical specialties required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides perioperative nursing care across the continuum, including pre-operative and post-operative assessment and patient education
• Supports Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) by evaluating orders for appropriateness based on proposed surgery, patient age, and health status
• Maintains accurate documentation in accordance with nursing process standards and HIPAA guidelines
• Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and dual patient identification
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Epic charting experience is expected given facility use
