Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU/Endoscopy position at a Level I Trauma Magnet teaching hospital, requiring conscious sedation experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Endoscopy unit within a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma academic teaching hospital
- Floating required across all three areas: intake/pre-procedure, sedation, and post-procedure recovery
- Patient ratios: 1:1 in the intake area, 1:1 in the sedation area, and 1:2 in the post-procedure area
- CRNAs are available for patients requiring MAC sedation
- Telemetry monitoring is required — must be proficient in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- 4x10-hour day shifts (8:30 AM–7:00 PM), with occasional shift start at 7:30 AM–6:00 PM as needed
- 1–2 weekend/holiday on-call shifts required per month
- Epic EMR required
- Unit has 4 staffed beds
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand (no pending licenses accepted)
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital experience required; ICU background highly preferred
- Conscious sedation or procedural sedation experience required — candidates without this experience will not be considered
- Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management required
- Epic EMR experience required
- A Relias assessment will be administered as part of the screening process
- COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
- Candidates with experience in high-volume, high-acuity, teaching, and trauma facilities are strongly preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
- Former UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
- RTO may not be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum — no more than 6 days total
- Block scheduling is not available for this assignment
- Scrubs are facility-provided as needed, or candidates may wear their own solid-color scrubs
- Onsite parking is available for a daily fee; an offsite parking option is also available for $10/day via a shuttle service operating Monday–Friday, 5 AM–10 PM, located approximately 1 mile from the facility
