Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least 1 year of experience, ACLS certification, and a Michigan RN license for night shift work on a surgical unit.
Details
- 46-bed surgical unit (4N) within a hospital setting
- Primary patient population includes trauma surgery, post-bariatric surgery, post-abdominal surgery, post-amputation surgery, and urological cases, with overflow medical and cardiac patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:5 to 1:6, though ratios may increase to 1:7 during call-ins
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Charting performed in Cerner
Requirements
- Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- PCT support is in the process of being hired for the unit
- New travelers are being onboarded weekly to help manage unit workload
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- All time-off and scheduling requests must be disclosed upfront for consideration
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
