Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a highly acute MS/Tele unit specializing in Solid Organ Transplant, Thoracic Surgery, and Hepatology, requiring a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience and a CO or Compact RN license.
Details
- 36-bed surgical unit within a hospital setting specializing in Solid Organ Transplant, Thoracic Surgery, and Hepatology patient populations
- Cares for lung, liver, kidney, and pancreas transplant recipients, as well as liver and kidney donors — the only program performing all solid organ transplants in the Rocky Mountain region
- Thoracic surgery patient population recognized as one of the top programs in the nation
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4–5 for general patients; transplant patients in acute phases are staffed at 2:1 or 3:1 ratios; ratios may flex based on staffing and unit needs
- Charting is performed in Epic
- Night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30), on various days of the week
- Weekend shifts required per unit needs
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within scope to similar units and potentially to sister facilities may be required
- Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
Requirements
- Active CO or Compact RN license required
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- BSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in a high-acuity unit required
- Prior experience working in environments with flexible staffing ratios required
- Comfort with and ability to care for high-acuity surgical and transplant patients
Additional Information
- Works closely with multidisciplinary teams from Transplant, Hepatology, and Thoracic Surgery throughout the patient continuum of care
- Directly admits kidney and liver transplant patients from the OR to the unit
- Navy scrubs required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO is capped at 10 days maximum for the assignment
- RTO is not permitted during the following blackout periods: June 28–July 9, September 2–12, and October 25–November 4
