Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel MRI Technologist for a weekend day shift position at a Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital, with a minimum of 1 year of MRI experience required.
Details
- Work in the MRI department of a large acute care teaching hospital with Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma designations
- Patient population includes adults and pediatrics from the ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings across the full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnoses
- Average of 40–45 patients per day
- Uses Siemens 1.5T magnets
- EMR: Epic
- 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week
- Weekend position — no rotation between weekdays and weekends; travelers remain on the contracted shift
- On-call responsibilities are shared on a fair rotation among full-time, part-time, PRN, and travel staff
- No floating required
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience, with most recent experience within the last year
- ARRT(R) or NMTCB certification, plus ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification required
- Current BLS required
- License required if applicable
- Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
- Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Perform MRI examinations across a broad patient population including ED, ICU, inpatient, and outpatient cases
- Department is led by a lead tech, modality supervisor, and Imaging Manager; team includes staff ranging from new graduates to long-tenured professionals
- Orientation includes a facility and departmental tour with introductions; 5 days of departmental orientation, flexible based on traveler experience
- Holiday coverage is expected unless time off is pre-approved by the manager
- RTO requires manager approval
- Black scrubs required
- Free parking available in on-site parking decks
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Former employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated from a permanent position for at least 1 year before being considered
