Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift travel position in Portsmouth, NH, requiring 2 years of hospital experience and IV certification.

Details

• 3rd Medical Unit (Unit 620) at a hospital in Portsmouth, NH
• 36-bed Med/Surg unit with telemetry monitoring capability
• Patient ratios of 1:6, with occasional 1:7 during surge
• Unit staffing includes a Unit Secretary (day shift only) and LNAs on both shifts
• Procedures performed include CBI, wound care, drain management (chest tubes, Jackson-Pratt, etc.), Foley insertion, central line dressing changes, telemetry monitoring, and PRN EKGs
• Charting is done in Meditech Expanse
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Float to same level of care as needed
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NH or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
• IV certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in a hospital setting
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include bedside shift report, hourly safety rounding, and personal connections as part of patient experience standards
• Self-scheduling is available, though leadership reserves the right to balance the schedule as needed
• Scrubs in any color are acceptable
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
