Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position at a 20-bed medical ICU in Elizabethtown, KY, requiring an active KY or compact RN license and ACLS certification.

Details

• 20-bed medical ICU setting with a goal ratio of 2 patients per RN
• Patient population includes cardiac arrest, sepsis, mechanical ventilation, stroke, post-surgical, continuous dialysis, and bedside invasive procedures
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety interventions
• MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, individualized care planning, patient and family education, care coordination, and facilitating admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Delegates and monitors patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
• Nursing practice is evidence-based and incorporates all four phases of the nursing process
