Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Oncology) position in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a focus on oncology patients
• Patient population includes those receiving chemotherapy, soft tissue malignancy treatment, symptom management, and comorbidity management
• Continuous cardiac monitoring is a core component of patient care on this unit
• Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Shifts are 3x12-hour days (7:00–19:30) or nights (19:00–7:30); rotating day/night schedule based on department needs
• Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Special equipment includes GE B450 telemetry monitors, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation required
• Skills required: port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, IV starts, assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and ABG interpretation
• 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; co-worker references are not accepted

Additional Information

• Oncology experience is preferred but not required
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred
• Local candidates are accepted
• Former employees of this facility are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum 6-month separation
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and will be built into the contract; RTO is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract duration
• Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting the position; candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location or will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently upon receipt
