Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float RN for a PCU/Med-Surg position requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications with night shift availability and every other weekend commitment.

Details

Float position covering both the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Med-Surg departments
PCU nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1; Med-Surg ratio is 7:1
Each floor has 25 beds
Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
No block scheduling
No on-call requirements
Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
EMR system is Meditech

Requirements

Active PA or Compact RN license currently in hand
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
Experience in both PCU and Med-Surg settings required
2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
Candidate will float between PCU and Med-Surg and should be comfortable working in both environments

Staff is Very friendly and helpful. They provide scrubs. Easy work.

Cons

Difficulty finding a place to stay around here. They won't schedule you in blocks and you have to find someone to switch. NOTHING to do around town- everything closes at 5.
