Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 2 trauma center in McKinney, TX, requiring BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI certifications with at least 1 year of ED experience.
Details
- Work setting is a 37-bed Level 2 Trauma Emergency Department in McKinney, TX
- Unit serves both the Main ED and a Pediatric ED (PBED)
- Patient ratio is 1:4 within zone
- GE Monitors used for patient monitoring
- EMR is MediTech; prior experience is preferred
- Day shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
- Staffing includes 1 charge RN, 7 RNs, 2 Techs/Paramedics, and 5 mid-shift RNs per shift
- Requires 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period
- No on-call requirements
- Floating to accommodate ED patients admitted and holding in the ED
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI (SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA may be accepted in lieu of CPI)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date; AHA or ARC accepted
- Minimum 1 year of recent ED nursing experience required
- Strong patient experience and interpersonal skills required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- HCA and/or MediTech EMR experience is preferred
- Royal blue scrub top and bottom required
- Time off requests from mid-June through mid-July will not be approved due to the FIFA World Cup period (June 14 – July 14)
- High energy, self-motivated, and team-oriented candidates are an ideal fit for this unit
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded; strong ED experience and quick availability are prioritized
