Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Inpatient Rehab position in Ottumwa, IA, requiring at least 1 year of acute care experience and an active Iowa or compact RN license.
Details
- Work setting is an acute rehabilitation unit within a regional health center
- 13-bed inpatient rehab unit serving adult and geriatric populations
- Common diagnoses and treatments include neuro, trauma, burn, gait training/strengthening, and wound vac care
- Patient ratio is 1 RN to 6 patients
- Lift equipment is available on the unit
- EMR is Meditech
- Day shift, 7a–7p
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating to Med/Surg may be required as needed
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Iowa RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- AHA-issued certifications required for all applicable credentials
- Minimum 1–2 years of acute care experience required
- Med/Surg, LTAC, or inpatient rehab experience accepted
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
- Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
Additional Information
- Travel experience is preferred but not required
- Mandatory Reporter certification (Child and Adult) is required as part of onboarding
- A 10-panel drug screening including opiates is required
- Titers (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB) must be from within the last 12 months
- Iowa SING background check (criminal and child abuse portions) must be cleared prior to start — no instant or statewide searches accepted
- All county and state background checks must be fully cleared prior to start date
